The Choice is yours - by James Winston
Whatever situations you find yourself in today remember one thing: It can get better. The way I see it you have two choices. You can be miserable, or you can be happy. The decision is primarily yours. This website is for those who decide to strive toward happiness.
I think there are two important things that will lead you to a happier life. The first is accepting where and who you are and understanding that you can change. The second is to accept the responsibility that, it is your choice who you become. To do that you will need to create your own vision of your future. What is your end game? Knowing that will allow you to do what Steven Covey calls “Begin with the end in mind” - Habit 2..
The important thing about the future is understanding what it is you really want. Develop a clear mental picture. The quality of your vision has a direct impact on how well you can focus. Create a vision book of what you want your life to look like. Do whatever it takes for you to envision the future you see yourself in. What are you passionate about? What are you good at? What is the meaning of your life? What do you want it to be? It is my belief that you should search for or create your own meaning. My mantra has been: I want to write my own story, because I don't want someone else to do it for me. If you don't decide what you want, someone else will do it for you. To make matters even more, knowing is still not enough. An action has to follow. If there is a gap between knowing and doing, then knowing is almost meaningless.
Once you know where you want to go, start taking the steps necessary to get there. And remember you can't change where you are over night but you can change the direction that you are going in
